Longbow, a new British sports car manufacturer, has revealed its line of two electric models, the Speedster convertible and the Roadster coupe, promising to revitalize the sports car market for the electric era.

The company claims to have created a new segment, the “ultralight electric vehicle” (FEV), with its cars weighing less than 995 kg, half the weight of the MG Cyberster, the only comparable model currently. The Speedster, in particular, has an impressive weight of 895 kg, which is considered a major achievement in the industry.

Although it is a newcomer to the market, Longbow is backed by a team of experienced founders, with backgrounds in companies like Tesla and Lucid, and a former CEO of an electric boat manufacturer.

Longbow focuses on light and agile cars, without compromising range, with the Speedster promising a range of 275 miles according to the WLTP cycle. The company also highlights that the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, although no details have been revealed regarding the power or number of motors.

The Speedster will be launched with an initial price of $110,100 and a limited production of 150 units, including special editions Luminary 1st Edition and Autograph. After the Speedster sells out, production of the Roadster will begin, with prices starting at $84,200 and more flexible production, but also with limited editions.

Reservations are already open for both models, but not all details about the features of these special editions have been released.
